We are part of the School of Biology at IISER Thiruvananthapuram, nestled in the foothills of the Western Ghats in Kerala, India. From a campus surrounded by forests and mist-covered hills, we harness advanced mass spectrometry and systems biology approaches to understand the intricate connections between the proteome, metabolism and epigenetics in eukaryotic cells.
Our research focuses on host–pathogen interactions, disease biomarker discovery, and the development of next-generation proteomics and metabolomics approaches. By combining mass spectrometry with molecular biology, epigenetics, and multi-omics approaches, we seek to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cellular responses to environmental cues, parasite adaptation, and infectious disease outcomes.
Our Mission
Through the EpiOmics Lab, we aim to develop and apply innovative technologies to investigate infectious diseases at unprecedented molecular resolution, revealing how pathogens adapt to their environments and how these adaptations influence disease outcome.

With bright eyes for discovery and a tail woven from DNA wrapped around histones, Omi is always chasing the tiny molecular clues hidden in our experimental systems.
